Director of Technology and Media

  • Implemented a new ATM fiber optic WAN and manage large enterprise network with 3000 nodes spanning 24 physical facilities. Manage 20 Novell 4.1 and 25 NT 4.0 servers for the domain, including T1 internet access with 32 class C address blocks using 40 routers/switches. Maintain AS/400 computer system with 300 interactive users.
  • Coordinate 23 media centers (26 media specialists) including automation software support (Follett & Winnebago), technical support, and instructional direction including copyright issues.
  • Prepare and manage district technology budget of approximately $3 million annually (exclusive of employee payroll)
  • Manage and/or coordinate a staff of 29 employees (not including media specialists) providing site level support of curriculum software, distance learning (GSAMS), staff development, hardware support.
  • Prepare the district media and technology plans annually.

School Administrator

  • Assistant Principal in a middle school with 800-900 students and 54 staff members. Same school system as above with 23 schools.
  • Participated in grant writing, long range technology plan, coordinated school business partners, managed student discipline, evaluated school staff, participated in the recruitment of school staff.
  • Implemented school LAN, first dedicated internet access and computer lab capable of videoconferencing for the school district.

  • Took a one year leave from public education and contracted as technology trainer for large nuclear site.

  • Initially located in Southeast as sales representative for company and independent distributors. Promoted after one year to national sales manager for personal electronics at company headquarters.
  • Major responsibilities included dealer relations, conducting national sales meetings, future product planning, and dealer/distributor training.
